Clairece Rosati Yoga

Clairece began practicing yoga in Portland OR in 2000 and was immediately hooked!  A performer with a demanding schedule she was elated at the ease, focus and calm she experienced after just one class and has been practicing ever since.  Motivated by how instrumental her Yoga practice was to her own injury recovery after an auto accident in 2007 she received her YTT 200 Hour Hatha Flow Certification from Herizen Yoga in beautiful Baja Sur Mexico and is a RYT through Yoga Alliance. 

In addition to performing and teaching yoga, over the last ten years Clairece has managed yoga programs and worked in physical med. and rehab in both integrated and traditional medical clinics. She brings the comprehensive knowledge learned working with physicians, practitioners, therapists and other teachers to both her flow and restorative yoga classes. 

Her creative and mindfully designed Yoga and Yoga-Pilates Fusion classes integrate meditation and breath work with a focus on alignment and conscious assists to support students in achieving improved balance, strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. In a large group or working one on one, Clairece's strongly held belief that Yoga is for everybody sets the atmosphere of safety, care, and openness that allows students to explore and develop their own Yoga practice.

Clairece also offers private and group instruction in a series she calls "The Whole Instrument". In these sessions she combines breath work, alignment principles and Yoga Asana in a holistic approach developed over the years to support vocalists and public speakers to find ease, flexibility, confidence and strength in their body and voice.

New Year New You!  



The holidays can be a blessed, and stressed time of year. Often leaving us over committed and challenged to maintain our regular fitness and wellness routines. The long dark days of winter, busy with gatherings and all things merry and "spirited"  followed by Netflix marathons and left over Christmas cookies can result in physical stagnation, foggy fatigue, and a sluggish immune system, not to mention winter weight gain. To reverse residual stagnation before Spring and get back on track and feeling better then ever, commit to or re-commit to a regular Yoga practice. 
After taking a break myself to relax and re-set I will be available starting Jan 10th 2017, for private and group private Yoga and Yoga/Pilates classes tailored to meet your needs and desired results. One of the many advantages of privates is you can choose week to week what you need. Recovering from a flu? I can design a class for rest and recovery. Need to re-boot & balance your system after too much alcoholic and sugar? We can focus on a detox flow. Need to rev your metabolism to burn off some of those  extra holiday calories? We can practice a fat burning sequence to boost metabolism and build muscle. I love building relationships with my private clients to support them in tuning in to what they need and helping to provide the tools to meet those needs as they change and grow!

With Mother's Day this month I thought focusing on Salamba Sarvāngāsana (Supported Shoulderstand) considered the mother or queen of all Yoga Asanas was appropriate. It is one of the five master poses with a multitude of benefits and is especially great this time of year to combat seasonal allergies by relaxing the throat and sinus passages and calming the nervous system.  Energizing Yoga Moves You Can Do Without Getting Out Of Bed!

My husband really struggles with getting out of bed in the morning. Like a school boy no matter how many hours of sleep he gets he is one of the slowest risers I know, head under the covers, then under the pillow until he can finally, barely open his eyes! So in an effort to make the most of his extra minutes in bed and to help him wake and feel energized I designed several series like the one in the above article. Admittedly I LOVE going through the bed series with him, especially on a chilly or extra busy morning where we both hit the floor running. I also like to add some simple things like flexation and extension of the feet ( flexing and pointing) a little foot massage, rolling through the wrists with a little massage and rolling through the shoulders. Try it out and savor the extra minutes in bed with no guilt! Start your day off right with ease and self care instead of a fight with the covers! 

Spring Cleaning 

Spring Cleaning Yin Yoga Spring Detox 
I incorporated this series in my personal Yoga practice today and I am feeling so re-freshed, equally relaxed and energized! With the windows wide open, sunshine streaming in and the sweet smells of Spring filling the room it feels good to be in my body and good to be alive! After a cold winter, it is important to clear the weeds and work to nourish and cleanse the body. Yoga is a wonderful way to do just that!  I like to incorporate sessions out doors when possible, nothing better then contemplating our nature in nature and cleansing our bodies with our breath in fresh air! This sequence here is wonderful because it is so gentle, a great series for all levels. More advanced Yogi's may enjoy incorporating it in to a more vigorous Vinyasa practice by using it in/as a floor series moving tword Shavasana. As always feel free to ask questions about technique or benefits, and if this looks of interest to you but you aren't quite grasping it on your own, schedule with me and we will go through it and build on it together.

With so many Yoga styles to choose from and the ability to practice anywhere with little to no equipment Yoga is a form of physical activity with numerous benefits physically and mentally. Check out the great chart below for some great examples. I encourage you to try some of the different styles before deciding if it is "right" for you. Personally I love a power flow class most of the time, but enjoy restoritive while ill or traveling and I practiced gentle and therapeutic Yoga with my physical therapist while recovering from an injury. With Yoga, unlike some other physical activity an injury or illness does not side line your "work out" and it has been proven to aid in quicker recovery. Flow, restoritive, power, gentle, a style for everyone at every stage of life. Just try it!
